New to area and looking for local paddlers to boat. Reformed class V boater looking for calmer waters and scenery. I would be most interested in weekday trips to Piney, Buff, or something I don't know about. Need to meet some people who get out.

Welcome! Come down to the Central Chapter cookout, Tuesday the 28th, in Little Rock. Excellent food and opportunity to meet a bunch of paddlers. http://forums.arkansascanoeclub.com/vie ... =1&t=26704" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; for details.

Only if I take days off due to my job in education. In a few years, I'll have all the time in the world!!

I lived in Rosebud for 3 yrs and frequently paddled a stretch of the Little Red putting in at Barnett access near Heber. :canoe: . I am no proficient trout fisherman, but usually caught my limit or close w ultrlaights. Fly fishermen do better. I paddled upstream a mile or 2 and floated downstream. it is calm and pretty, but ya gotta watch the releases. Too much water with all the gates open. Mostly nice riverfront with pretty women and their dog sitting out on the docks along the way.

A pleasant way to get out for a few hours .
