Looking for a 2 to 3 hour easy flat water or black water paddle Friday, Saturday, Sunday or Monday within an easy drive from Little Rock.
Trying to tune up for Rec School.
Any suggestions for these beginners?

Check out the Grassy Lake Water Trail in the Bell Slough Wildlife Management Area. We had a trip there March 22. You can find more info in the "Paddling Trips" section. I paddled it today & there is plenty of water.

As a tune up for Rec School I'd suggest at least one of those days doing Remmel to Rockport. Rec School is moving water not flat water. Flat water is great for getting your muscles in shape and improving your stamina but, there is no substitiute for time in the boat on moving water. As a caveat to that, time in the boat on any kind of water is better than not paddling. To borrow the motto from another website I frequent "get off the couch"!

Stan & Chris, thanks.
Julie and I, weather permitting, will try the Grassy Lake trip on the 26th (Memorial Day). See the Paddling Trips section of the board for those that would like to join us.
We will probably try to make the Remmel to Rockport trip the following Saturday (the 31st).
We are really looking forward to Rec School.
