Check out the 50 mile drive on Hwy 16 between Pettigrew and Lurton. Along the way you come within a stones throw of the Lil Mullberry, Beech Creek, Nuckles Creek, Kings River, War Eagle River, The White, West Fork of the Big Piney, Lollars Creek, Dry Creek, Hurricane Creek, Big Creek, Cave Creek and Richland!!! Whew Hew. Beautiful creek central right there. North side dumping into the White and South side dumping into the Arkansas. Pretty cool.

Don't Forget the Buffalo National River. There are some errors. The map shows the Main Branch of the Buffalo to be Nuckles Creek. The Buffalo, White, Mulberry and Big Piney watersheds all begin near Red Star.
Also to be noted is why Hwy 16 goes where it does. The Ozark Plateau is just that, a highly eroded plateau. Consequently the easiest place to put a road is to run it along the top. From Fayetteville it was able to follow the White until it got to the headwaters then rode the ridge that separates the Arkansas and White River watersheds. The Quachitas by contrast is a result of plate techtonics so it is easier to run roads along the valley floor. Hwy 10 is a good example.
