Fisher's Ford Whitewater Park is a GO !!

Post by paddledog » Wed Jul 03, 2013 9:04 pm

Tonight the Benton county quorum court approved the planning for the park.
This was the last hurdle to overcome before beginning the project.
I have remained quiet on the message board about this subject for a long time,
waiting for things to settle and be confirmed.

Several concerned landowners were at the meeting tonight and brought up
valid concerns about the project. All of points were addressed by Shane, the engineer on the project.

The one comment I heard from several of the land owners after the meeting
while mingling in the hallway was how everyone was fine with the boaters but were
concerned with the Bubbas, the four wheelers and the drinking yahoos.
Boaters got high praises for their concern and care for the area.
I was proud to be a boater.

I have been in most of the meetings about the park and would be glad to share what I know now
that is is official.

I do not speak for the Walton Foundation, Fishers ford LLC, or the city of Siloam Springs.
I will share what I know as a concerned boater. Post back here and I will try to answer as I can.

This is going to be a great opportunity for this corner of the state and Arkansas boaters in general.

Actually, a good thing for us Tulsa area boaters as well.

Lost count of the summer time trips we made to the Ford till the land owner started showing up looking for a fight.

Good to hear the community supports the park. I know the gas stations and fast food outlets should see an increase in business as more and more boaters learn of the park.

Who is the WW Park engineer? IE local or one of the big time names?
Okieboater AKA Dave Reid

That is so happy to hear, and also proud of all the boaters that have enjoyed this spot have take care. I know that as a group of people that will be utilizing this area a LOT, that we can all help keep it clean.
