Canoe Club members preform rescue at A.L.F.

This is from March but I just received it. Eat your heart out Walter. These are the things that you just don't learn in a weekend class. BOB http://vimeo.com/62467741" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

At least you got some camera time, like you've been asking for

Walter would have had the first 2 boats freed within 3 minutes so the 3rd boat would have never gotten stuck in the hole.....oh "GREAT DOUBLE BLADE CONFUSED KAYNOIST" :poke2: :poke2:

so how did Cole's boat get in the hole? did Cole get rescued? was that Walter in the red boat? does the "death" in "death hole" refer to the "death" of the simple minded, single blade proponents of open boating?
sometimes i wonder

My guess is Walter would have done a few minutes of deck dancing on both canoes,
Pushed one out of the hole
Swam under the other canoe, do a hands roll demonstration
Then hands paddled out of the hole to the next available down stream eddy

Not a big deal :yahoo:

Walter would absolutely agree your learning should not stop after one weekend. But if you want to call out the "A" team, you're going to have to find a hole that's further away from the bank! ;) :grin: (my suspicion is that Bob only meant "eat your heart out that you weren't here to get in on the fun!")

Cole: so the boof was intentional? My rules say that counts as "playing", and swims while playing don't count. Rock on!

Great video! I agree with Cowper I am eating my heart out because I missed the fun. You are correct that you don’t learn those skills in a weekend course (some good, some questionable). It scared me a little when the boater surfed into the hole to get a boat out then ended up swimming “NO MORE VICTIMS” and “EQUIPMENT IS LAST ON THE LIST” of priorities comes to mind. Additionally the boater that swam attempted to stand up, my heart stopped for a minute on that. But the biggest thing that I have learned is to not second guess a rescue that is on tape when you were not there in person and it looked like all equipment was recovered and no one got hurt which makes it a success. Wish I could and would have been there to enjoy the river, the party, the rescue, and the people.

EAT WATER (not HEART)

Walter, you need to do ALF at least once as an open-boater!! You owe it to yourself!!!!!
