MissEllie, The permit has been given and from what I understand will not be revoked.
They sure pick the right time to have such a meeting. I can only wonder why at this point. :confused:

The issue is not dead in the water... pun intended.

There appears to have been some issues in the process & it may still be possible to stop it. Keeping the public pressure & attention up will help.

Also, just like in South Carolina, they come in with one & if no one cares they pop up all over. South Carolina only stopped them after they tried to put one in next to a fancy country club. SC rivers have been damaged very badly by these farms. Same in other states - Arkansas looks like easy picking to them.

This web site has some of the documents & issues lined out. http://buffaloriveralliance.org/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I'm not giving up without one heck of a hissy fit!

This one hopes that Kevin Cheri can be there to give his agency's input. It is bad enough that this district is taking a beating from the Washington power wrangling (at the same time five more new site designations are being added to the restricted budget), but I cannot see how this proposal could have anything but negative effects on the river and environment.

Thanks for the glimmer of hope MissEllie. I will keep up hope for the right decision to be made. Still hard to believe it happened at all.
