I think that the ACC should be nominated for a 2013 ENVY award in this category:
Environmental Improvement or Enhancement: This
category recognizes activities that have worked to improve the
quality of the environment in Arkansas. Projects can include
watershed cleanps, mine reclamation, wetlands construction,
Brownfields projects and industrial site redevelopment
and reuse.
We'll need 1) participation numbers of volunteers, 2) numbers of cleanup events, 3) partnering organizations, 4) proof and impacts ( names/dates of events, sign-in sheets, flyers, press articles and pounds of trash removed from streams) over the past year from Mid March to Mid March.
I nominated ACC for this last year, but it was a last day nomination instead of a month out. A month of info from folks ought to lend to more complete and overwhelming evidence to why ACC deserves this award.
If you have the info....Please post it up!!
Example - NW Chapter of ACC helped organize and/or sponsor Lee Creek Cleanup, 3 Scull Creek Cleanups, Lake Fayetteville Cleanup, and West Fork Cleanup. 640 participants. 6,000 pounds of trash removed. Proof http://freshare.net/article/lee_creek_c ... _of_trash/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
RV Chapter - Powers point cleanup #'s and Mulberry Cleanup #'s and so on.
Central Chapter
Arkla-Tex
Cowper
Piney Creeks Chapter
Dustbowl
Red Dirt
Here is the link to the award if anyone wants to read any more about it or nominate another group for good things they've done for AR environment: http://www.adeq.state.ar.us/poa/envy_aw ... packet.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
