Re: SWR Class
You will see some posted as it gets warmer. They seem to do it in LR a bit sooner/later in the season.Opes wrote:Does anyone know of any swr classes scheduled for this spring or summer? I know of several folks that are interested. Anything at Canoe School?
There are a bunch of folks in NWA (myself included) that need a bit more SWRT. Several of us are just waiting for it to be warm enough to be reasonably comfortable performing multiple rescue scenarios per hour. As long as there is demand, we can ask to have a class put together.
All said, I'm just a "young buck.." Maybe Paddledog will chime in.

Liz and I are in. I can't remember the magic number but I think that it is around 6-8. Paddledog is in NWA so that would be better/less of a drive for you Opes. I've never heard of a SWR course during canoe school as most of the instructors will teaching a canoe/kayak class.

Re: SWR Class
I'm a newbie to whitewater boating but would be interested in taking some kind of a beginners/learning the basics SWR course if there is such a thing?

Re: SWR Class
This is the class that we want Trent. This class has nothing to do with boating skills. I think that it might even be better for beginning boaters, I was just too hard-headed back in the day.

Re: SWR Class
I do have a class coming up.
I have been busy planning with some folks from Texas
to get a date nailed down.
How does the weekend of March 8,9,10 sound.
I believe it will be warm enough and good enough water.
I will write a separate post this eve when I get home. (look at this post time)
This will be the first of the "Sponsored" classes for NWA members.
Feel free to post back here and I will start the list.
Basic info can be found here: http://www.paddledog.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I can take at least 6, then I can start adding instructors to take up to 12-15.
Thanks for the interest.

Re: SWR Class
The weekend of the 10th works for me. I've got to give a presentation in F-ville at 6:00 on the 10th. I am assuming that class would be done around 5 and if not I would hope that I could leave a little early if need be.
Here's to hoping for warm weather or a big fire.

Re: SWR Class
Is like to come to the class, too...but will be coming from Hot Springs. Might need a place to stay I camping isn't readily available.
