The UALR pool is open for all boaters on Wednesday, but closed on Saturday. There will be a swim meet on Saturday, if anyone wants to go support the athletes competing.
Please note that the pool will also be closed next week both days.
So tomorrow is your last chance to practice indoors at UALR for two weeks.
I hope to see a few more people tomorrow, then what we've had the past few sessions. We are lucky to have such good stewards to the community, like the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Please make sure to thank the lifeguards when you see them.
I'll have my SUP

there for anyone who wants to try it out.
As always:
Wednesday the session is from 6pm-8pm
Remember to rinse out all of those boats before getting in!

I'm gonna try to make it Wednesday. Happy to help anybody who shows up. I can swim with the best of them.

Silly question, but is the pool cold? Like wetsuit cold or is swim shorts good enough?

A swim suit is enough - but we do see some minor variations in temps from week to week. Some folks (myself included) find it more comfortable to wear a shorty top if you have an old one, especially if you try to stay in the water for the entire two hours. If I had only one short top, I probably wouldn't expose it to the pool chemicals week after week; they do take a toll on the equipment over time if you're a "regular".
Come on out, Folks! These UALR pool sessions are the most under-utilized, under appreciated thing going in the Central Chapter! Even if you've got your roll down, they are still a great time to say "hello" and hang with a few friends while sitting in your boat; if you don't have your roll or don't have it bombproofed then it is just silly to not come unless your work schedule or something like that is preventing it.
At Paddle for the Cure, I was reminded that there is a whole contingent of sea kayakers in LR that us WW folks rarely see; I wish some of those folks would bring their long boats to the pool and work on rolls with us. I'd love to try one of those greenland paddles!
