It looks like the ACC isn't an affiliate club of the American Whitewater organization (see link below). Any reason why? They seem like they do some good though I haven't been around long enough to know anything about them other than what I've run across online.

Bryan,
I was under the impression that we were unless for some reason we let our membership lapse. Let me check with the higher-ups to see what I can find out.
Thanks for the question!

Hi Bryan,
I'm not sure why AW isn't currently showing us on their website, but if you look in the back of your most recent (Sept/Oct 2012) AW Journal you will find us listed there as we have been for many years.
Also, for those of you who are not members of AW, mention your ACC membership when you sign up and you will receive a discounted membership pricing. AW is a great organization and has been working for paddlers relentlessly on many important access issues.
Cheers!
Tom

Surprisingly enough, you'll also find a club listed for Lousiana (I'm guessing for the first time ever)! :)OzarkTom wrote:I'm not sure why AW isn't currently showing us on their website, but if you look in the back of your most recent (Sept/Oct 2012) AW Journal you will find us listed there as we have been for many years.

Thanks for setting the record straight. I figured the ACC was an upstanding citizen
We just joined the ACA and I'm downloading back issues of the AW journal to read. Looks like good stuff.

Re: american whitewater affiliate?
I just recently paid our renewal dues and got the updated membership card (member number 4021) expiring 8/19/2013 and it shows the Arkansas Canoe Club membership level with American Whitewater as an Affiliate Club. I don't know why it doesn't indicate that on the website. If anyone has time and wants to call and set them straight, you have the member number handy!
