This may cause a tick to back out but in the process it causes the tick to regurgitate. NOT GOOD.
The only recommended method is to use tweezers. Bottom line: No matter what method is used, remember when you were bitten and if you start feeling the least bit ill within a couple of weeks get to a knowledgeable doctor and start the doxycycline treatment.
