Rockport Questions

Post by Lando » Sat Oct 22, 2011 5:45 pm

Do they only release on weekends between Memorial and Labor day?
Would love to get out and paddle on Sunday, but I am guessing Rockport will be out of the question?
Any other potential areas running?
Just moved back to Lil' Rock after several years of paddling in the mid-atlantic and itching to get out on the water.
Thanks!

Lando,

To answer your first question, yes, mainly between those dates unless we have abundent rainfall and they should need to release more. Even going into a dry Fall, like this one, there may be other week days or weekend days that water needs to be released. Entergy will drop the level of lakes Hamilton and Catherine fairly soon for shore-owners to be able to do yearly Winter maintainance. So, the best advice I can offer is to check Entergy's weekly 'Lake&Flow' news releases (emails). Go to Entergy Hydro Operations, then Lake&Flow news, then to the latest email message. Hope this helps. Others more computer savvy than myself probably have a more concise address to access this information, but this is how I get there :D There should be some good floating days on this section soon, before it gets too cold. There should also be some great floating this Winter and next Spring on many of our 'rain-dependent' streams that are mostly too dry in the Summer. You'll really enjoy the variety of what Arkansas has to offer when we get some good rains again!.
Best Regards
Jim

Lando,

Here is a link you can add to favorites for the data that Jim mentioned.

http://www.entergy.com/operations_infor ... eases.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It always has the latest update on it.
