Post by Regud » Mon Aug 15, 2011 7:07 am

I saw this in the paper today and thought I should post it...

9am - Noon
Prairie Creek Park
6th Annual Secchi Day-Aug. 20, 2011
The sixth annual Secchi Day on Beaver Lake will be held on Saturday, Aug. 20, at the East and West Shelters near the boat ramp at Prairie Creek on Beaver Lake five miles east of Rogers on Hwy. 12. The event is named for the Secchi Disk, a black and white device lowered into the water to measure clarity. Volunteer scientists are needed from 8:30 a.m.-11 a.m. Pre-registration and boat required. Space is limited. For information, e-mail your name and a daytime cell or landline number to Brad Hufhines at bhufhines@bwdh2o.org. That's not all, though! A free Water Education Festival will be held from 9 a.m. to Noon. Prizes will be awarded and activities are family friendly for all ages. In addition, exhibitors with educational information are invited. Lunch is included. Other activities include the Water Challenge Walk, Pontoon Boat Rides, and a photo contest. For more information, call Amy at 479-717-3807. Click the photo here to download a flyer with details!
