Need recommendation for overnight float

A friend and I are looking to take a trip the weekend of the 23rd (in about 10 days). We'd like to do at least one night, possibly 2, of primitive camping on the float. We have all of our own gear, so if anyone could recommend somewhere that has good water level (moving water preferred but I realize it's scarce this time of year) right now I'd appreciate it (also length, where to put it and out, etc). We are young (early 20s) so the more extreme the better. We'd also like to take fishing gear so somewhere with good fishing would also be a plus. I'm located in NW Arkansas but anywhere across the state is fine. Thanks!

Thanks...which section of the White would you recommend? Is Big Piney floatable this late in the summer?

JH,
Deuce has it nailed down pretty good with the White R. or Lower Buff. R. suggestions unless we get some really substantial rains shortly. The USGS gauge on the Piney this evening showed 3.4 cubic feet per second. It's probably just laying in pools separated by long sections of hot rocks

Well, all the upper White is beautiful in my opinion, so you can't really go wrong with any section. Buffalo City to Norfork would be a good option for a one nighter, and that stretch has the advantage of smallies mixed in with the pink fish. Plus, if you decided you wanted to keep going, it would be as simple as, well, "let's keep going."

You could even do a combo lower Buffy/White trip if you wanted; say put in at Rush and float to Norfork. That would be a pretty good float, around 35 miles I think. Also, you might look into the Current. I've never had the pleasure, but I think it always has water. There are plenty of ACCers who know it well enough to comment.

The Eleven Point River from Greer to Riverton (19 mi) in southern MO would be another option. It's spring fed and floatable year round.

The Illinois is almost always floatable canoe or kayak. Watts back to Tahlequah is 40 some miles and can paddle to lake tenkiller as well. Still able to kayak two days ago without dragging. Lots of people this time of year though but will only be last leg of that kind of trip
