What a fun time it was, the boat race down the beautiful Big Piney Creek. We got there early and enjoyed fellowship with many people. I enjoyed talking with Donna (canoe club member) and her Nephew. It was a beautiful day. I had a friend in the front of my canoe which I normally go solo. We gave it as best as we could in the 17 foot coleman barge I have. Within sight of the bridge (finish line) there is a hydraulic, standing wave. My buddy though I was crazy when I yelled "turn it around" and we got that big old canoe up on that wave. We just sat there a minute. It was beyond fantastic. We finished 9th out of 10 in our division. Not bad I must say. 54 minutes. Then at Moores Campground they gave out the awards. That in itself was fun. A good day indeed.
I want to give Moores Outdoors one more big Thank you for a day that will live on for ever.
