Mulberry Sunday 5-29-11

It was a great day to float from High Bank to Redding on the Mulberry. There were seven of us: Gary & Karla, Minna, Wayne, Pat, Jim & I. The level was about 3.3 when we put on, the water cool, the day pretty warm, and the sky blue. One of our paddlers, who shall remain nameless, had a rough day, starting at Jump Start.

Rope! A couple of rapids later...here we go again! You mean it happened twice! Yep!

Should we let 'em get away with saying "they recently modified the boat." I prefer the one where the rock just jumped up out of the water and said "surprise!"
Once off the river, shuttle run, trucks loaded, and clothes changed, we headed for dinner and home. It was a 5:30a-11p day, but well worth it! A great day on the river with good friends, what more could you want!

Hum, of that group, I know one that has:
1) A new boat
2) A past history of not confessing to swims
I could be wrong of course, but circumstantial evidence is mounting...

I will confess for him. Raising the canoe seat might have been a mistake and there were no other swimmers.

Open boaters are good for carrying an ice chest full of beer. Other than that they are just a nuisance.

Cowper,
You can be proud of your student! Karla and her new boat were great yesterday. She lead the group at times, eddied out great, and warned us of strong eddie lines. It was a first descent for me on that section, and we were glad to be with Wayne, Gary, and Karla to show us the way. Gary actually took the job of "showing us the way" a little too seriously, a couple of times, so I tried not to follow all his examples,

but the man can read a river!

Thanks Gary and Karla for a great day!!!

Greater love hath no man for his bride than he who would stay home and, in his bride's stead, lead her Sunday School lesson on Revelations so she can go do the Mulberry!:) I'm glad y'all had a great day!

You didn't happen to come up with a revised date for the Rapture did you?
I'm getting a little discouraged about all this date setting for the end times cause I've already planned a party for the end of the world on Face page for December 21, 2012.

Larry,
I appreciate your taking her class, because I enjoyed our six-hour visit. It made the trip seem shorter.
Thanks,
Marlo

Dave, there has been a correction. They got their solstice mixed up. Mayans don't know much about wnter, so the mix up was understandable. The correct date is June 21, 2011.
You have just three weeks to repent.

Well, that blows my theory. I figured the rapture occurred but nobody we know was qualified.
