CREEKER'S NIGHTMARE

It's my nightmare, anyway. The approach is fast (80 feet per mile) to a blind curve with a log to duck under 15 feet upstream of this; the drop is about six feet altogether with this at the top of the final three foot step, on the outside of the bend:

I could feel the roots reaching out for me as I was taking the picture. Any of four roots could snag you. Bad thing was I missed this on the hike upstream and only noticed it on the way back.

Chester, ol buddy, why don't you run point?

Dang, and even Chainsaw's-R-Us wouldn't touch that one - it's a living root and NOT fair game!

Now, maybe rolling a few rocks in to protect the root (and prevent getting your nose under it) might give you an ethical solution...

That would fit in the category of "Steam Team Bank Stabilization project"...

Sure sounds like a lot more work than sending Chester first. :D
