Harrison is discussing revitalization plans for the area and one item they have mentioned is a whitewater park on Dry Jordan Creek. Here's the link.....what a thought!

Nice! Now that makes two ways that Boone is becoming a wet county. They recently approved the sale of alcoholic beverages and now Harrison has plans for a whitewater park. If I owned some real estate in the area I 'd be a happy camper right now. I just hope the added traffic doesn't have too much negative impact on the natural state of the close by Buffalo River.

Wow this is facinating!
So I am only somewhat familiar with the area. What is the average flow of this creek? Gradient? etc? I live in Eureka springs so I would be excited about a project like this.

I wondered about that. They mentioned Dry Jordan Creek. As far as I know (someone jump in and correct me if this is wrong!) Dry Jordan runs just east of the downtown area and basically starts out near the Fed-Ex complex just off hwy. 65 north of town and runs into Crooked Creek just below the dam that forms Lake Harrison. Only time there seems to be water is after a big rain. Is it possible to pump and pipe water from somewhere else? Expensively, I'd think. Would it be worthwhile for anyone from ACC to look into this?
Re: Possible Whitewater Park at Harrison????
Dry Jordan is in fact that, DRY. The only time there is water is when there is high runoff. It flows into Crooked Creek below the "Lake" Harrison Dam. This would be the only water source available.
