Here is a list of the wood status of the Ozark creeks listed on AWA website that were in the Ice Storm path. This is the info that I have gathered to date. If you have updates, please provide the info. Sharpen the saws and lace up the hiking boots!

West fork of Horsehead has wood again. Joe Branch took me and Noel down about two monthes ago. We had to portage several of the good rapids. There was a log sticking up vertically in the first significant verticle drop, where the water curves around the wall to the left. There were tons of downed trees for the last 2 or 3 miles also.

And unless anyones finished were we left off last year with Osage, its pretty nasty also

Last I heard Fern Gully was clear to boat (normal woodiness). Ditto Little Mill Cr. We need a report on Spirits Cr and Sugar Cr., but I don't think they were affected by ice. No idea on Hart Cr., but it was likely below the ice line as well. Also, I've heard conflicting reports on Stepp Cr., but I think it was well below the ice line too. Probably Smith Cr. is clear too, but the long walk in and out make that a moot point these days.

I live 20 miles from the take out to the hailstone. I also live 14miles from the put in on the Kings River. I have a chainsaw and I am willing to go out to any spot and cut up down wood. I just don't want to do a solo mission, becasue I would hate for an accident to occur and be stuck alone with no help of getting out. So, at what elevation is the ice line at? Victor, I live on the Osage, lets cut some wood. When you available?

I have hiked both Smith Creek and Broadwater Hollow recently. Smith Creek is well below ice line and the road in and path out are clear. Smith creek below the upper shut-in has been gouged out and rearranged by high water events in the near past. We're frequent hikers in this area.

Broadwater Hollow is a bit messy at the top, but could probably be rearranged by hand. Chain saws are probably not an option here.

I'm good Sunday Dec 12th i have two chainsaws and a double bit ax. If needed I have a 3rd saw. We can clear out a creek

Wish I could get out there and help with Osage Cr. My work won't let me get away from KC right now for a weekend. Probably can swing it in January. I'd really like to see that creek open for business again.

Please post on the Osage Creek clean up.

One AR Creek I have wanted to do but have not been able to.

Would like to help the clean up and maybe foot scout part of the creek.

I would like to help out on the 12th too. I don't have a chainsaw, and am probably not safe to use one, but I'm happy to carry one in my backpack, and well-versed in the use of a bow saw. I can also bring some rope and a pulley to drag things around.

I will start the Chainsaw's up and make sure they are in working order. I guess the more people the faster it gets done. I never Cleaned up a creek of wood before, but I'm a Mexi-CAN and Not a Mexi-Can't. I hope others can show up and show me the ropes

Glad you pointed that out Lazer. I had the same thought when I first visited this thread and was too lazy/distracted to go track it down.

So, is it on for cleaning the Osage sunday Dec. 12th? I'll be here. Got 2 chainsaws and plenty of sharp chains. Only a couple of problems before the Mushroom. Not sure what the story is downstream, but I'll try and scout it out.
