Long paddle trip, Sunday Sept 5 -- in IOWA

Post by Al Donaldson » Wed Sep 01, 2010 4:54 pm

Folks:

Just in case anybody down there is tired of having no water, we are trying once again to paddle the length of the Blackhawk Creek Water Trail (to be) near waterloo, IA.

We'll be shoving off from the big city of Grundy Center Iowa at 6:00 a.m. and, with luck, will hit the Cedar River in Waterloo before full dark (over 41 miles...)

The creek has plenty of water, more than enough snags, logjams (mostly cleared), assorted lumber and a couple of little drops to keep everyone busy for a day. Like...

So far, we have paddlers from Iowa, Illinois and Wisconsin coming...

If you happen to be up North, come by and paddle with us. (Needless to say, this is NOT a Float trip...)

Regards,
