Canoe Repair, Outfitting, Instruction - NWA

Post by Shep » Tue Aug 24, 2010 11:50 am

Help support a poor graduate student! I'd much rather be playing with boats than tutoring undergrads. I am available for guiding and instruction, outfitting and repair, as little as two hours or as much as two days at a stretch.

A little more about me:
I am a certified ACA Level 4 solo whitewater canoe instructor, wilderness first responder, and EMT-Basic. I have worked as an instructor with Outward Bound Maine, and guide with Charles River Canoe and Kayak (Boston). I team-taught a solo canoe section this past year at whitewater school and have led canoe trips from a 2-hour moonlight paddle to a 22 day expedition. I'm currently working on teaching strategies for open-boat rolling, but it's a work in progress. :) I've also got experience with canoe repair and outfitting.

Any questions, don't hesitate to PM me for my e-mail address or phone #.

Thanks!
Paul Shepherd

Skid plates for RX boats

Post by Shep » Mon Aug 30, 2010 1:15 pm

I am ordering materials for kevlar skid plates this week. If anyone is interested, I'll order some extra. I could pick up boats at Rendezvous for people not around NWA. PM me if you have any questions!

Thanks,
Paul
