Well, I just have to share yet another example of where one of our outdoor outfitters has supported the educational efforts of the ACC.

Ouachita Outdoor Outfitters has donated a new "pin canoe" to the ACC Swiftwater Intructors gear collection.

Those of you who attended the swiftwater rescue clinic two weekends ago know that the canoe used to provide students with practice at equipment recovery has been, well, used and abused for many, many years. The time for a replacement was somewhat overdue. UNASKED, OOO has given the intructors a "new" canoe to be used exclusively for training purposes.

Way to go, OOO!

Well, less than 60 days has gone by since my original post, and I have yet another example to add:

Don from OOO showed up with 4 touring kayaks (3 sit-on-tops and 1 sit-in) at Felsenthal for their first annual Fall Festival. We sat under an ACC Central Chapter banner, so the Club got the credit and got our name out in front of a lot of potential future members.

The yaks were a huge hit with kids, teenagers, and parents with kids too small to paddle alone.

(Thanks also to Gary and Karla for helping get the boats back to Central Arkansas, and to all who came by either just to visit, or to take turns helping kids don life jackets and just get started.)

Thanks Don, Jeremy and others for your excellent service at OOO. I always get treated right and I appreciate it. Wish you guys were in Little Rock, but probably good for my bank account that you are not
