Anyone floatin the Caddo tomorrow? Wife and I would like to float tomorrow and it's the closest. Level should be optimum. Unless we get MORE rain. Would like some Caddo veteran float partners (if possible) as we've only floated it once a couple years ago. We thought about the Ouachita but it looks like it will still be too high for tomorrow (unless it falls faster than I anticipate). I know a lot of people are headed for the Buffalo this weekend because of the river being UP! We are open to suggestions about meet times/places and on other possible locations as well.
Will have good access to board till 11 a.m. today after that spotty. Can read but not always post. Having trouble logging in from home PC so here is contact info:

Chris,
Yes, let's do float the Caddo tomorrow. Marlo and I will meet you all at the Glenwood bridge between 10:30-10:45 to meet, then head up to Caddo Gap to the put-in. If that is agreeable, we'll see you there. There may be at least one other joining us. With the forecast sunny and warm day, with fairly nice water, there should be quite a few paddlers out there for entertainment :)
Best Regards
Jim

Jim,
Sounds good to me.
Felicia and I have been looking forward to floating with you and Marlo again. Hannah won't be with us this trip.
She's gonna be at her Mamaw's this weekend. Ah, the Sat. floating bonus
all the rental carnage.
I shouldn't laugh too loud. That was me a few years ago.
Chris

Hey Mark,
We'd be glad to have you all along! Since you are coming from Mena, we will meet you at The Swinging bridge about eleven. We should have the shuttle taken care of at the end of the trip for you and me.
I posted my cell number but have AT&T so only have poor to no service up in 'them' hills :)
Although we do fish on some trips, this one will pretty much be paddling and visiting.
Best Regards
Jim

Re: Caddo or Ouachita Sat. 5/22?
Marlo and I had just a grand day on the Caddo today on the Caddo Gap to Glenwood run. Joining us were Ann Davis, and Chris&Felicia from ElDorado.
Man, the river was at such a nice 6.50ft+ level, and with the pretty weather, It was so nice. I'll just bet the Caddo was just as comparable as the Buffalo today as being described as 'bumper boats', so many rental boat folks, I was so glad at the fun they all must have had ,as well as the just rewards for our outfitter friends!
With the river flowing pretty frisky, we did see quite a bit of carnage today but none of it required much assistance from our group, until one of the last rapids, I call it the Lower Markham Mountain rapid, in which there was a 'suitcase parade' of one capsize after another where we were taking our last break of the trip. Much trow-rope practice for all of us with several people pulled out of the rapid and into the eddy. Also two boat retrievals, also with throw ropes. Marlo, Ann, and Felicia also had the opportunity to practice hypothermia therapy very well for one women who was quite cold from prolonged exposure, she had indeed lost all color from her face.
What a great day, and then Outback in Hot Springs for supper, along with 3 pints of back medicine for me
Best Regards

Re: Caddo or Ouachita Sat. 5/22?
Yes, a good time was had by all. Jim is so polite, he didn't mention that I was part of the carnage. Prior to a lengthy rapid far upriver from the major carnage site. Jim mentioned this little rock on river right at the end of the rapid that could come into play. Well, it did.
I hit it and felt my boat going over so I just slid (we have SOT's) out into the water. Hung on to my paddle grabbed my boat and recovered 100 yds or so downriver. Everybody paddles over and I point out my dry hat and only 3 drops of water on my sunglasses and inform them that I just performed a "controlled wet exit" from a SOT. My lovely and charming informs me that if any control had been involved I wouldn't have turned over. The rest of our group concurs. OK so it was a "semi-controlled wet exit." What? You don't buy that?
Neither did they.
Felicia later paddles up to me and ask “is your name Bob.” I turn to her
with a most confused look on my face and she then ask “or is that just what you do in the water?” OUCH!
That’s COLDer than the water was. You see what I have to put up with?
