Used my sherpa to hike up from the campground to run the gorge seen nick and crew had lunch it rained and after much discussion about what to do we went up to the putin to find a nice level so we made a run twin devils was muddy mess meeting richland makin for some cool colors.
after we ran shuttle the putin was about five inches of air space so i guess we rode in front of the surge.

I'm in. Got some coming from the North too. Sounds like 10:30 meeting at the put-in.
Renee, call if you'd like to pool from Conway.

Saw your truck at the put-in and knew you were getting something good. We sat out part of the rain at the confluence of devils forks, which were not yet pumping. But as we headed downstream, it was no longer a "bone" run; it rose about 4 inches in the time it took us to make a second lap at Lower Screw up. The waves on the ledges above Maytag changed as we played on them, and Maytag was downright fluffy.

What a fine, fine day it was!
A gathering of old friends and new, warm sunny weather, a couple of first timers, decent water level. Some excitement with a couple of swims right above Road Block, but then everybody saddled up and got it together for the rest of the day.
I'll never forget the mental picture of Mike O in the distance, spinning and surfing on the play wave in the rapid upstream of the Falls, with the small waterfall in the background coming off the tall bluff over the river. This is truly one of the world's special places.

This first timer had a great time as well. I always wondered about richland, and now I know. Thanks for gathering up my gear below roadblock, i was a little to preoccupied to keep it all with me. It was nice to meet a new group of patient paddlers.
thanks again to everyone involved.

It was a rough 5 days of paddeling.....yeah right! Thursday and Friday we ran Lee creek and then 4 laps on Richland in 3 days...2 of them were at 6 inches of air space. Hunter and I are getting warmed up for our trip out East.
