Opinions on a kid's next boat-sidekick vs burn

Okay, so I know asking for opinions can open a can but that's what I want. My 11 yr old has outgrown his Jackson Fun 1 1/2 and needs a bigger boat. Also looking for something a little more forgiving. I have found some good deals on a used Jackson Side Kick and a Pyranha small Burn. He weighs 104# and is 4'10". I think he might outgrow the sidekick a little too quick, but was wondering if the burn might be a little too much.
So there, toss out any thoughts please or let me know if there are any other used boats of similar caliber around that you know of!

get the sidekick. It's not like you would have problems selling it when he got to big for it.

You could look at a little hero, Hunter really likes his sidekick the boats are very forgiving, but not real playful. If your son is not going to be running class 3+or4 rapids he may want something a little more playful for the easy runs. The real truth is kids are just like adults they need a playboat and a creekboat

An alternate opinion here: Don't get him a boat that is "too" forgiving - it will just allow bad habits to develop. I'll go with a minimum "two boat" theory - one forgiving one for big water days with Dad, but a second boat that has some edges which demand proper technique in turns and crossing currents. I may be wrong, but I think the Burn might require a slightly more traditional paddling style, while I suspect the Sidekick is more forgiving, and the better choice when he is pushing his limits on river difficulty that day.

Thanks for the thoughts. I think I will probably go with something more "universal" than a dedicated creeker. Like Cowper said, Anything too forgiving may allow for some less attention to technique. I'm sure he would like to be like dad and have a quiver of boats in his arsenal but he's gonna have more of a river runner for now.
