Dierks will be running for the next few weeks.

Post by ScottH » Mon Nov 02, 2009 10:04 am

I am telling everyone early, so they can make plans,

Lake is 17’ up and with no rain in the forecast they will be blowing it out for a couple of weeks. The gauge at the pipe is back online, but something seems off. On Saturday morning, when the dam was off, it showed around 45cfs of natural flow down at hwy 70. Now the dam is showing 850cfs releasing but hwy 70 is showing 1125. Either way it is running BIG, #3 will be stellar.

Wister has also already started releasing and will run for a while also. Be looking for bigger releases that will make it fun-diggidy.

Weather claims sunny and in the 70’s this weekend. Let’s go play before it gets too cold! I will be at one or both this weekend.

For those about to ask…
River Info

Lake Level

Pipe discharge

Hwy 70 level

Cole and I were out there all day yesterday, and camped out last night. Great weather and great water. Plus winter rates went into effect at the campsite so it is $4 bucks a night for a campsite plus there are restrooms, showers, grills, and a play park.

Just like to add that the river seems to be rolling as big as I have ever seen it. I don't know if the COE reads there cfs from the same spot but the wife, Janet, reminded me that they told us at the office once that they have to add 100 cfs to it to get a accurate cfs reading.

By the way we have plenty of camp spots available. Sure has been nice here with the full moon at night.

Ok the game plan for the ArkLaTex group is set. Several of us have to be back in Shreveport Saturday evening so we are leaving at 7:00 am headed to Dierks. Play till noon or a little later then head back. I've got two newbies to introduce to whitewater (carnage!) so show up a little early and get some rope practice. Harlan will provide excitement as usual (first aid anyone?).
