Nov. 14 Arkansas Post National Memorial is sponsoring 2 two-hour float trips on Moore & Post Bayou that surround the memorial. Should be gorgeous fall color. Bring your own boat. A limited number of loaner boats will also be available to those who reserve early.

October 24 is a non-paddling event but a great way to gear up for All Hallow's Eve: A candlelit walking tour around Park Lake with stops at time line stations featuring living history presenters interpreting episodes from Arkansas' first European settlement.

Seark, I won't be able to make your Nov. 14 float. However, I have noticed your posts in the past and am interested in a bayou float in your area. Have not seen any organized floats in your area in some time. Just letting you know that I would be interested in floating in the Arkansas Post area or any other float of interest in your vicinity. I live in Little Rock. I will be out of commission from November 10 through the end of the year due to surgery but keep me in mind before or after that time.

I have put this trip on my wetlands Fall touring agenda. Any of you out there who would like to go call and reserve a spot. I will put up another post about this trip next week.

We will join the official tour and then continue to paddle a little longer afterward.

I have spoken to Joe Herron at the Post. Everyone who has their own boat has an open invitation. There are Bald Eagles in the area and alligators of course!

We will be launching at the Moore Bayou boat ramp near the Post at 9:00AM.

Those coming from the south or east should meet us there at 8:45AM.

Those coming from the west or north can meet us in Little Rock at the Crystal Hill exit just off I40 at the commuter parking lot on the northeast corner of Crystal Hill and I40 at 6:30AM.

I may go, gary will be hunting. I can't fit my rec kayak in my van. Anyone going from the Benton area I could ride with and give my rec kayak a ride?

I am planning to come from El Dorado. It sounds like a great float.

Thanks Ann. I live just off Int. 30. We would need to be heading to meet everyone in Little Rock by 6:30, so need to leave my house by 6am. You would need to be at my house in time to load up the 10 foot approach I will be paddling.
Do you have a rack on top of your car to carry two boats?
Did you do the paddle for the planet? I met another lady at that event and forgot the name, I knew she lived at the village, I think.

Sorry it took so long for me to post. We had a very nice float on Moores Bayou and in the Post Area. We had a large group with 19 boats in all. Saw an Eagles nest with an immature from this suummer hanging around and when we were headed in the mature swooped over our heads. Great trip!

Really enjoyed the Moore's Bayou float. Great group of boaters. Thanks to those who organized it.
