Gonna put one in my Dagger Ovation looking for some input on what to use battery wise. I've been told to use a motorcycle battery but this seems a little heavy to me and dont know how well it will hold up a charge to the cold weather. Looked at NIMH and LIPO but the lipo seems a little expensive but willing to spend the extra bucks if it's worth it.
Any input will be appreciated!!! Looking forward to paddling with some open boaters this fall .
Thanks H20gasm

I use a 12v lead acid battery with my set up (alarm panel type battery)
a little on the heavy side but inexpensive, have it mounted behind the
saddle on my Ovation

I've got 2 canoes set up with the same battery type Wayne has, and 1 with a Lipro. Much prefer the Lipro, but having problem with getting the supplier to respond in order to get another. There is a long thred on C1B1. Dale

Thanks for all the input guys!! Hey Adam was wondering where you picked that battery up at? And what kind if boat is that in? Got me wondering if maybe i should go with dual pumps??? Dale i've been having the same luck on the battery deal. Talked to a guy today and he did'nt even wanna sell me a lipo battery. Gonna swing by hobby town today to see if they have anything.
Thanks:Shayne

Those batteries are available at many electric parts stores and also some sports stores-Gander Mountain, Bass Pro (they use them for automatic feeders. Might be a seasonal stock item though.?)
