rock creek info W>scott county UPDATE

Post by rickyrod » Mon Apr 27, 2009 8:05 am

Rock creek bridge under US. 378 near the town of Liberty , has a gauge in place that on sat. was reading 2ft. . looked to be about 60 cfs . from looking at the rapids up stream the level would have to be atleast 3 ft. on the gauge for a good run. Large pool under the road. Mr. Jerry said while hunting the area that there are at least three good drops he's seen. and at times they can't cross the creek due to size. Up to the parts I've seen it retains good width , and grad.>4 miles up from the road is the steep stuff . the trail to the putin goes all the way up but ext. narrow with huge mud pools . access is scetchy . water qual. is the best in the state due to zero population upstream. If a better access was in place this would be a great one . Def a class III+.

It"s one of those marker gauges , looks like someone painted it on . But it's marked at one foot incs. to the pool under the bridge.
