Somewhere Friday and Saturday

Post by Dis147 » Thu Mar 12, 2009 11:32 am

I have Friday and Saturday to float, but I am not quite ready to run the Tot. Anyone hitting something a bit tamer.

You might could make a bone run on the Illinois Bayou tomorrow. I think the Tot and Lil Mo got the most out of this system. More rain in the forecast however.

Thanks… I’ll be watching the gauges all day, especially the IB and Lil Mo. I hear the upper three miles of the Tot(from the 246 bridge down) is decent class II stuff…

Fridays out for me, but saturday even if the upper Little MO is not running the lower probably will be, so If that thats the case I will have to decide between it and the caddo.

I would love to hit the Lil Mo Friday, but the rain looks over for a while there. I may just check out the upper Tot.

Dis- Last summer a group of us went from Gilliam Springs low-water bridge to Ed Banks. The float was 6.4 miles and sounds like what your looking for; tamer than the usual run and a good class II. We ran it at (4.14) on the gauge and weren't losing any plastic.

Hey Laramy,

Was I on that paddle/was it with Coogan? I know I did an upper, upper section with the Captain last year, but didn't think we went all the way to Ed Banks. Maybe I'm thinking of a section even further up.

If it rains a bunch more tomorrow and the Upper Lil Mo goes for Saturday, I'm planning to head there, or if the Lil Mo doesn't get hit but the Tot stays close to 5 feet, I might do an upper Tot section on Friday and then Ed Banks down to 278 on Sunday.

Tentative plan only...depends on how the gauges look Saturday am...

See ya,
H

Thanks for the info.........

I’ll be at the 52600 bridge around 9am, if anyone wants to go back upstream to Hwy 246 and make a run back down.

Nevermind - I found the trip I was thinking of... we did FR 31 to FR 31, about 5.5 miles in July 2007 with the gauge at 4.5 feet. I guess that's the UPPER, upper Cossatot! It was good class II fun, and scenic.

Cheers
