It's not the most or the best whitewater, but we still got some whitewater and would gladly welcome you to our tribe.

Dave is part of the tribe, tribal elder maybe even. I actually live in Overland park so email me when you get to town and I'll gladly show you some of the local water and such.

I'm moving to nebraska for a few months. Does anyone know of water there, or is it flatter than a pancake as I suspect?   If not how many hours would one have to drive to get in on a little kansas whitewater?
Thanks,
Charlie

Know a bunch of paddlers in Omaha who can be found just about every weekend on the muddy flats of the Platte River, one of who is my cousin whose claim to fame is having paddled the entire length of the Missouri River and the Mississippi as far as Memphis. For moving water they usually head down to Missouri/Arkansas but there are a couple of rivers in western Nebraska where you can find riffles and even a couple of Class II shoals. I can hook you up -- warning: when these folks come off the river the coolers come out -- lots of experienced drinkers in Nebraska.
