Hailstone! Help! Fort Smith!

The NOAA aviation weather report is predicting that thunderstorms will train and or become stationary over NWA tonight, dumping maybe 2-3 inches of rain. Dr. Cindybob and I are in Van Buren tonight celebrating the holidays with our Ps. I have my paddling gear, but no vehicle. I suggested to Dr. Cindybob that she might need to get up at 4:00 a.m. to drive me to Boxley. Her response confirmed that the honeymoon is over (way over - many many parsecs over).
If the Hailstone runs tomorrow and anyone from the VB-FS area is heading in that direction I need a ride. I'll pay for gas, beer, piano lessons for your firstborn, front row tickets to the next Debo and the Stay Puft Marshmallow Men concert, etc., etc.

Daveybob, you'll have to bribe (ly to) your wife. Tell her about the cultural aspects of the trip...like the fine dining establishments in Jasper and the opportunty to see exotic wildlife in Boxley Valley, not to mention a chance to socialize with some of the finest outdoorsmen in the state.
Good Luck!!! And by the way: "The Hailstone will not be up this weekend. The Hailstone will not be up this weekend..."

You're right Terry - it looks like I jinxed the rain event - my bad.
I wasn't planning on introducing Dr. C to any elite outdoorsmen, but I was thinking about introducing her to a semi-okay, retired, overly unmarried outdoorsman from Springfield whose most famous quote should be in Bartlett's: "I am convinced that marriage is the cause of divorce."

Thank you Pam - I know you would! You're my favorite (and the best) shuttle dolly in the whole world! You know that?
Dr. C and I drove back to LR with the kids. It looks like ARG is putting rubber on the Hailstone tomorrow. Marcell "Pete Rose" J., Jimbob "Branson Boy" "Engaged-But-No-Date-Yet" M., and Tim Man are picking me up at 7. We're meeting Cap'n Downstream, Ross Noland, and Rodney Kestner at Dixon Ford at 9:30.
P.S. Thx Rob for the invite this morning. I would have accepted but I was boatless in VB (thus the need for the ride to Boxley). Hope y'all went steep and stayed safe.

35 years! Geez, Pam.

Congratulations! That's hard for me to imagine. Seemed I got along just fine with my spouses until we took the vows. I've been with Cindy for over ten years now, and the "M" word never pops up. In my mind, however, we are a "couple". I think that is what matters.
OK, enough of this serious stuff...David, I'll probably see you guys at the put-in.
