New Location for NW Chatper Meetings???

Post by Fish » Mon Nov 10, 2008 1:05 pm

Well, sadly Picassos closed their doors about three weeks ago. NW Chapter needs to find a new home for the last Mondays of the months. Does anyone have any good suggestions???

Oh, I did check out the Pontiac Coffee house in Springdale this weekend. They have a big back room with a big movie screen and a stage. They said we could reserve it for meetings - the only catch it no alcohol. Thought I'd throw that out there.

Well, that sucks!

I vote that we have it at your house this month. I know that there is alcohol there.

Just a few biased suggestions: Hog Haus, Grubs, Common Grounds, Mexico Viejo, US Pizza.........love them all, and they're all usually group friendly. Also, the Jose's in Springdale has a private meeting room that my alumni group uses.

Jose's in Springdale would be more convenient for those of us who live north of Fayetteville.

My 2 cents,

I don't have any suggestions of where to meet as I don't get out to eat often, BUT

I really don't like Jose's. My saddle club used to meet there and it was to noisy to hear, the temperature was always too hot or too cold, and we flat out got lousy service and it wasn't clean all the time.

Glad other folks's experiences have NOT been as bad as mine, but that was why I hadn't been back there.

I'm with the dislike of the Jose's. Mostly because of the food. I'm telling you Hog Wild. Good pizza and good beer. Some of the best wings in town as well.

Ok, so some votes against Joses. Pizza seems to be the #1 suggestion. Where is Hogwild? Do they have enough room for us to meet? Screen for movies or room therefor? I assume they have beer? I've never been there.

Could do it at Cable Car - they could probably really use the business, but it's on the east side of town, so longer drive for most folks than a spot near the bypass. How about the pizza place over behind Holiday Inn Express - the one whose name I can never remember. Good pizza, good beer, and easy to get to and to find.

I want to pick a spot this week - meeting time is coming soon...

If you're talking about Jim's Razorback Pizza, I think they also have a big room in the back.

Hogwild is good (good salad, good pizza, cheap beer), but there isn't very much seating for larger groups. I was there with 15 or so people a few months ago and we had to pull together all the tables in the back part of the restaurant to fit (wait staff didn't mind, but you'd have to get lucky to find the big tables open).

Hogwild is in the same parking lot pretty much as Mr. Burger of Garland. Good location, good food, I know a few people that work there.

I would vote GUIDOS, which is the name of the place that always escapes the fish, very close to the bypass, excellent pizza. I don't know about a big screen/place to meet, I'll go check it out after work :)

Also, there's a good chance I will be working at Tim's on the square soon....They have an awesome big screen, excellent pizza and beer.....

I used to work at Tim's on the square years ago during the summers when I was in town. Still head up there just about every time I'm in town for the cheap beer. If you ask the bartenders nicely they'll generally let you do whatever you want. It also tends to clear out pretty quickly after happy hour so plenty of room (though once the lights come up on the square for Christmas it gets pretty crowded).

I don't have any say because I've yet to remember to go to a meeting. But hogwild would be a cool place. Or somewhere with food specials on the last monday of everymonth.

So, where is the meeting going to be held?
