Buffalo River - Ponca

Post by Richard » Wed Sep 03, 2008 12:51 pm

Its a little iffy but I think I may be spending the weekend on the upper Buffalo. This is unbelievable for this time of year.

Easy, Easy my skin is thin living down here in Texas during the week!!! I cant even be around Harrison before 8:30 or 9:00 this eve. I know where some dry firewood is at for sure! Where are you going to be at all wkend? Give me a call and we might figure something out!! We do have a hunting season opening up in the morning.....but water this time of the year far out weighs the hunting.... :D

ok, sorry for the poke!..... all we do is just adjust the time frame a bit, push it back until sat. and the game is on! i know you like paddling in the sunny weather better anyways. plus this will give everyone else time to catch up to our plan of action. but i'm still going surfin' today around the mid day and most likely be camping at steel creek anyway! so put the HONEY'S ON HOLD !! and show up!

well i'm sure your welcome to tag along with us! but we are trying to avoid the deep drive into kyles and paddling a little farther to eurbie ... but at this time it's all still just a guess .. i will be at steel creek and will help with shuttle! so don't let that stop you from coming!............. see you there! i'm out the door

Couldn't have been a better day to be on the Buffalo!! Sunny skies, moderate temps., great water. . . . The best part of the trip though was meeting Painter Bob, who very generously shared tons of his knowledge with us. My 12 y/o son is now totally hooked on "catching eddies" & "surfing" - - something completely new to all of us.

Looking forward to Rendevous. . . we're now looking for a different boat for Zach & also have a 12' kids rec. boat for sale!

See ya'll next week-end!

Sorry we missed the float trip. The hurricane hit me in Little Rock and I just got power back ... would love to have paddled with you all and we'll make it soon! I promise .... because I have a little nudgine going on to get me to Buffalo! I think I'm car camping though!!!!

Glad you had a perfect day and trip.

painter bob .... I thought I'd found us a great umbrella hat to wear on the river when it's hailing, so you don't have to stand and hold a boat over my head .... but it was made to go on top of golf clubs, not heads .... It would have been perfect for our next exciting outting!

See you soon .... hope you come down to our weekend event next weekend!
Susan
