The meeting was (unofficially) called to order Friday, Feb 6 at 9pm at Buffalo Wild Wings by Harlan Hughes.

The items opened for discussion were:

1) Getting together a 15 potential area member list for the meeting in Ft. Smith on
Feb. 21. It appears that according to the bylaws we only need a list of people (with
address contact info) for the boards approval so if you want in email your info to
Harlan.Hughes@gmail.com or me at DionaCost@yahoo.com.

2) Contacting other chapters and using their bylaws as a guideline for making ours.

3) Changing the name to the Arklatex Chapter of the Arkansas Canoe Club instead of the
Bayou Chapter ( out of respect for BCOS members.)

4) Harlan Hughes volunteered to act as president, Ryan Visar for vice-president, Louis
Covington for treasurer and I volunteered to be secretary..... all of this is relative to more
members joining at which time we can have an election for anyone else who wants to
serve.

5) Getting together again before Feb 21st to go over our new chapter request letter before
submitting it at the state board meeting.
