Owl - lovely photo! You mentioned it was one of your favorite spots. You forgot to mention it was also some of your favorite hiking buddies. :poke:

It's been a while since I've been there; time to go back!

I'd like to see big bluff when we're there next month it's not on the same side of the river as the BRT is it? I need to get some maps and start planning what do you guys recommend for a 3 day 2 night trip?

Thanks

Big Bluff is on the opposite side of the river from the BRT but you could combine some of the BRT with some of the Old River Trail (ORT) to visit it. The ORT crosses the river a number of times but it's fun this time of year when the water is low and the days are warm. I like to pack lightly and hike it in Chacos so the crossings don't involve any footwear changes.

Recommendations would depend on how many miles you want to hike in a day. I've done three day trips on the BRT that were 25 miles in length and others that were 7 miles long with a lot of relaxing and exploring.

Cool thanks Owl! I will be making my plans pretty soon. Do you know much about Pakrat outfitters in Fayetville? Are they good people to deal with? I'd like to check out some different canoes while I'm up there. I had a wenonah spirit II in mind as well as maybe lookin at an Arkota from Two Brothers and also would like to see a mohawk intrepid
