Hometown Throwdown #2 -- July 11, 2009 at Rockport

Post by Jeremy M » Tue Jun 30, 2009 9:38 am

Ladies and Gentlemen, Children of All Ages!! Its time again for Hometown Throwdown, the sequel. It will be held at Rockport on July 11, 2009.

A big thank you to Jack Hollingsworth for the idea of an "8-ball" Race. It will be a relay race across the ledge, attainment, and back across the ledge. Teams will be two members of any paddling persuasion. Open-boaters and kayakers paddling together in harmony! What a beautiful thing! Three teams will race at a time, with "8 ballers" in the way to make life a little more interesting. The last team standing (ie fastest time through the course) WINS!!!

Of course the prizes are raffled off, so even if you don't win, you may leave with (trumpet fanfare) a COMPOSITE SHRED READY HELMET! This is the top prize this time, with other prizes, like FREE MOUNTAIN KHAKIS, and DIRTY T-SHIRTS! (those of you that were at Dierks will remember how valued these shirts were!)

COME ONE, COME ALL!!

We'll get everything started around noon(waivers, teams, 8balls, etcc), then begin at around 1 p.m.

Yeah, I spaced that. Sorry...We will begin when the water gets there...about 2:30 or 3:00....but Travis and I will be there between 12 and 12:30 to start getting people signed up so we can make a bracket. If you are participating, please arrive a little early so we can get everything set up in a timely manner

Hope to see everyone down there!

See you all at HOMETOWN THROWDOWN!!!
