Road and Stream Report

Post by David L » Fri Jan 30, 2009 6:09 am

I probably can't get down to NWA to paddle until Saturday (work :( ), but I'm looking for a scouting report:

Are any of the shuttle roads impassable because of downed brush?
Any of the major rivers impassable for the same reason?

Could be as late as 9 or 10 tonight (Friday) before I get home, but I'll post an update for Richland and anything else I learn from the grapevine, if someone hasn't aready beat me to it.

Probably should have asked if any roads are open. Paddlers are probably clearing the shuttle road for Richland Creek. I know some heading up with their chainsaws now. I'm thinking about driving in to surfing rapid on the Piney on Saturday. Chainsaw in tow. Hard telling which roads are passable. In a post last night from Jen C, most creek accesses were not open as of yet.

As far as the waterways being impassable, I don't think anybody's been on anything as of yet. I'd be willing to bet their are trees in the river. Floaters and strainers. Keep your eyes open.
