The Dustbowl Chapter is planning their fourth annual Dutch Oven Gathering; we like to call it the DOG.

Date: November 1st & 2nd
Place: Sequoyah Bay State Park on Fort Gibson Lake

(Caution: Sequoyah Bay State Park is on the west side of the lake and that is where we will be. Sequoyah State Park is a different park on the east side of the lake. We will not be there.)

We will be in the same shelter we used last year reserved for Saturday and Sunday so plan to camp the weekend with us if you would like.

There is plenty of room for tents, electrical hookups for motor homes and trailers, bathroom facilities with
showers, electricity in the shelter, lights for evening activities, a lake for recreation and plenty of room for horseshoe pitching or whatever games you bring.

Some of us will go out fairly early Sat. morning to get things setup. We will plan to eat the BIG meal around 3:00 - 3:30 pm, then clean the pots and sit around the campfire late into the night.

Sunday morning we will have our now annual pancake breakfast, and then clean up. Sunday afternoon we can play games, paddle on the lake, and leisurely break camp.

If you are new to camp cooking and would like to give it a try, wonderful, this is the place. We will even give you a hand with preparation and heat regulation (how many coals?). If you prefer to fix a dish at home and bring it that is just fine too. Please let us know if you will be coming, or if you need directions and what type of entre you will be bringing as it helps in our planning.

This is a fun event in the cool fall weather, with the falling leaves, next to a beautiful lake, with a roaring campfire and good company.
