Tracking IKE
We are all afflicted with Cognitive Dissonance. The greater our religious, social, financial or political affiliation, the greater the affliction. We hear what we want to hear. We believe what we want to believe. Truth becomes irrelevant.

Yeah...I'm supposed to work Thursday night. It wouldn't surprise me if we start evacuating by then. Of course, I'll be evacuating to Rendezvous.
Re: Tracking IKE
I'm still sitting in Baton Rouge waiting to see what Ike decides to do. The forecast trend over the past day has been to take it further west into the north-central Texas coast however it is still a long way away. If the NHC can get a good handle on it over the next couple of days...I might be home for this coming weekend!!!

I hope there's not a town in South Lousyana named Tina. They'd need to get the f$%%k out now! Course they wouldn't cause he loves her.

Got back from B.R. last night - Man, what a mess!
Scott, thanks to you and your fellow guard members. And just in case you didn't know - those folks drive like that when a hurricane hasn't passed through.

Hey Butch didn't realize that you were around here. We have been working at the Airport without any commercial power. All generator power meaning no a/c
This morning driving to work all areas around us had power except for a few blocks that included our office. Maybe today we will get power restored.
When we were riding out the storm there were folks driving at full speed, 55+, down the road in hte middle of a full blown hurricane including 90 mph winds. Got to see a few cars hydroplane into the median to say the least.
