Wister Wave update

Post by michelle Ashford » Thu Aug 28, 2008 10:59 am

We spoke with the Army Corps of Engineers this morning. They have already shut the gates down. The water level will be too low to surf but ricky and i are planning on going out this weekend and doing some work on the rock to make the wave a little better. thank you for all your support and if you have any questions please call me at 918.413.3632 or Ricky at 479.652.3337. Thanks again, Michelle

Moving rocks to get a better wave is very tricky business. I've seen this done and then the whole rapid is gone the next time there's a flood (just rolls the rocks downstream). Just a word of caution from the been there, done that folks. Not always wise to disturb mother nature's hard-fought equilibrium...

I will keep that in mind . realy we want to get a good look at what's under there even If we don't move anything . also I have heard from a local park ranger, that at hight levels the wave is still there (good news) just looking for that sweet spot thats just right and not so shallow for the moves that require depth, without being to fast. It's a work in progress.(R.R)

Yup, tread lightly. Look at the late tulsa wave and all the hard work they have put into it and still no wavey has returned and I believe they had a so called wave expert look at it.

if you do anything just shave back the shell on the players right eddy that way you wouldn't need a rope to get in (at most levels). Lets not touch the wave
It could be worse, it could stop raining
