Please write AGFC to Increase Funding to Stream Team Program

Please Encourage the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission to Increase Funding to the Arkansas Stream Team Program

Recently, one of our best watershed resources disappeared when Dave Evans of the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission retired. Good for him, but not so good for streams and rivers or the folks that own the land beside those waterways in the northwest portion of the Stream Team coverage area because it is currently empty. Dave was a joy to work with, and he made a very positive and lasting impression to the landowners that he served. He was a highly valued agency resource to the public of Arkansas. He also allowed a lot of beneficial actions to occur which improved water quality of our streams in Arkansas. His work benefited both aquatic and terrestrial wildlife as well. Please write our Arkansas Game and Fish Commissioners and encourage them to rapidly fill Dave Evans position in the northwest portion of our state, and to increase money for the Stream Team Program. Increased money being allocated to the Stream Team Program can be used to increase the amount of stream restorations taking place annually, increase the amount of resources available to stream teams who are making water quality and wildlife habitat improvements happen, and could even increase the amount of Regional Stream Team Coordinators. As the founder of two stream teams, and participator of a third, I know how well the Stream Team Program works to promote stewardship of waterways, improve water quality and wildlife habitat of waterways, and educate so many about how to determine stream health. Also, knowing how much a stream erosion problem can cost in dollars and wildlife – prevention of erosion problems from developing as far more cost effective to protect water quality and game and fish.

Please feel free to use the language above when writing or emailing each commissioner of the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission who are listed below with corresponding contact information, or use your own.

Bump.....

Only 28 people to date interested or curious enough to see how they can help out their local streams in Arkansas by taking a few minutes to write the game and fish commission????

Well, if you have not yet written the AGFC, please leave out the portion about filling the NW regional coordinator position because that has already been accomplished!!!!!! The position is open, and will be filled in about 6 weeks. Way to go those of you who took a second to read this post and another minute to write a letter!!!
