Paddles and PFD's needed for cardboard boat races

Post by turboturtle » Thu Feb 27, 2014 6:09 pm

Yes people, it's time once again for the UALR Cardboard boat races. :yahoo:
They will be held in the afternoon Friday March 7th at the UALR pool. I have been asked for help assembling a cash of 8-10 canoe paddles and PFD's. I have a couple of each, but nowhere near enough to fulfill their needs.
If anyone is willing to help, please leave a message here, PM me or bring extra gear if you happen to be coming to roll practice on next Wednesday the 5th of March. I can and will make sure all gear is taken care of and returned to their rightful owners following the event. I can and will travel locally to pick up and/or return all loaned gear. If any of you are interested in watching the races, you are more than welcome to do so. Entry to the pool will likely be the same entrance we currently use for access.
Tom, Grant and I personally thank you in advance for any gear loaned.

If I can catch up with Tim for his paddles, I've got three single blade paddles and a couple three PFD's. If I had just a couple more paddles and PFD's I would be set. I'm going to drop a dime on a non forum person for the rest, but if anyone is coming to pool practice tonight and has any extra paddles and pfd's Please leave them with names and I will go out of my way to return them.

Thanks again all who have helped in the past and who continue to help with the schools student activities.

I can leave 1 pfd at the pool tonight. Who do I leave it with? Lifeguard?

Yes'm, that'd be great. Thank you so very much. Lifeguards might throw it in their office, or If the equipment room by the lane reels is open you could set it in there to the left of the doorway. Or even throw it up on the coaches office with my boats.
I will not be here tonight, but might stop by if time allows. I will take your PFD up to my shop after the event to secure it. So just E me if you need it before next week. rehoffman@ualr.edu

Bob - the troops rallied and we left a number of loaners up by your boats - I think 3 or 4 paddles and 3 pfds from myself, Maggie, Bryan and Chris. Hopefully with what you already have, that'll be enough!

Thanks!

Awesome guys! We really appreciate the use of your gear.
Grant Watts who took over intramural sports last year, has been surprised and impressed with the clubs involvement.
Being as the pool will be open for us this Saturday, it might be a good time for some or all of you to reclaim your loaned gear. I will return all gear I picked up, and store the rest in the storage room next to the lane divider reals. If by chance it is closed, a lifeguard or myself have the key.
Thanks again, and I hope we can continue our support for the Universities Aqua related activities.

I just wanted to invite anyone who might be interested in witnessing the may-lay and pool carnage. :canoe:

The racing is said to start at 12:00P. Easy entry might be had at the same doorways we use to access the pool. :fish:

I hope to see a familiar face or two!

Hey bob... Can you check to see if my pfd (yellow with my name on it) got left in that storage room you mention? I don't think I got it back after the race.

Thanks!
