Think I can talk the Army Corps into this? :)

Where the Calcasieu River meets Lake Charles, there's a saltwater barrier. There's a set of gates and a wall on either side. At low tide the river will often overflow the barrier gates and walls. I've surfed the waves formed by the gates, but it's not the safest situation. I was thinking about trying to get the Corps to build a wave on the far side of the river that would work off of the tide. Then it occurred to me, that I could probably build something that would just fit over the top of the existing wall. I could actually do a slide on either side for those times when the lake is up and the river is down too. Anyway, do you think something similar to this would work? If so, anyone ever dealt with the Corps and have any suggestions on how to convince them? :P

Roman,

I have had a lot of interaction with various CofE people on access at Mt Fork river in SE OK and a bunch more on the Tulsa Wave Projects here in Tulsa.

They have not shown much incentive to do anything with projects as you describe. Might be every area has different management and you might have better luck than I have.

My experience has been the higher up the governmental decision makers a person can get to run interference, the better the chance of the CofE doing a project. If you can get a Senator, Congress Person or State Official to do the asking - my guess is your chances are much improved.
