Dierks Memorial Day weekend

Post by ouachita hiker » Mon May 23, 2011 4:46 pm

For those coming this weekend I thought I would cover a few things.

First unlike in the past you will not be able to use the pavilion or camp around it. The pavilion is reserved this weekend for a wedding.

Camp in any sites that might be available. Camping will be tight this weekend. There are already six out of twelve sites taken. Now if sites are all taken and you want to camp then I will find you a place to camp! We will open the area to camping behind the three holes and the exercise station but ONLY after all sites are taken! I can't get around this. Need more info then PM me.

Can we reserve them? We won't get up there till Saturday morning and I'm sure they'll all be gone by then.

I wish I could but I can't. These sites aren't resolvable. The only way they can be "reserved" is by coming in advance and placing something like a tent on the site and paying for the site from that point on. Now that being said if you don't need a site with full hook ups I can help you out. Lots of places to throw up a tent or hammock. There is a spot in front of our camper that I can use for primitive camping. I will even run a extension cord from my place across the road. It is level and has a picnic table. You can build a fire if you wish also. You can put lots of tents down there.

One more thing. I will be at school during the day on Thru. and Fri. in case any of you come down and all of the spots are taken. Look me up at around 4:00 or later.

I will give a update each night as to what is available.

Site #10 is the only one still available. Just remember we have LOTS of room and level also across from our camper. That is if you guys don't mind camping near some wild and crazy guys! I will still run elec. to you all. Might not hurt to bring some heavy duty extension cords if you got them. I can easily get the elec. across the road. We will work on the price later.
